Assistant Director for Internship Development

Education

B.S. Family & Human Services and minors in Philosophy, Media Studies, and Nonprofit Administration, University of Oregon

How did you get here?

Growing up in the Bay Area, UC Berkeley has always been a special place for me — I have Cal alumni in my family, grew up going to Cal basketball games, and my first job after college was at the Cal Alumni Association. I’m thrilled to return to Cal in this role.

Throughout my career, accessibility and advocacy have served as my North Star. I’ve spent the majority of my professional journey dedicated to launching careers —  leading programs for first-generation, low-income college students and new grads at education nonprofits. I’ve gained experience across direct student-facing work like 1:1 career coaching and workshop facilitation, as well as strategic work like partnership cultivation, coalition building, and stakeholder management.

I deeply believe in the power of internships and experiential learning. I’ve personally benefited from meaningful internship experiences that helped me explore, grow, and connect with professionals who shaped my path. I’m energized to bring my passion to Berkeley Career Engagement and serve as a bridge for Cal students launching their own careers.

Who do you work with? What’s cool about your job?

I have the great pleasure of working with students, employers, and alumni, with special attention to the College of Letters & Sciences. The coolest facet of my job is being a connector — facilitating exploration and growth by linking students to resources, opportunities, and social capital that impact their career journey.

What’s the best career advice anyone has given you?

I’ve been fortunate to have great mentors, and a piece of advice that has stuck with me throughout my career (and one I often need reminding of) is to lean into progress over perfection. Perfectionism is rooted in fear, and will often hold you back.

Interests/Hobbies?

Cooking, baking, reading, watching sports (mostly basketball and college football), listening to podcasts, getting outside, spending time with loved ones, and trying to become a gardener.
